Plastispheres

Plastispheres is a research-driven project by Yara Boustany that unfolds through multiple editions and formats - it explores the tension between embodied presence, synthetic matter, and digital alienation.

Inspired by the term “plastisphere”—human-made ecosystems where lifeforms grow on plastic waste—the project imagines new maps that link the primal body with synthetic and digital realms. It challenges dominant narratives that frame nature and technology as opposites, seeking instead subtle convergences between the two.

Snakes & Ladders
Dance Film

Snakes and Ladders is an imaginary excursion through a wavering inner motion, a come and go, rise and fall.

Beirut - seemingly powerless bodies move - scanning a broken city, roaming its ruins.

Faced with a new crude reality, human bodies are forced to observe matter and thought in their raw form - The city's spirits emerge from the shadows to play, and become flesh.

A duality between a body and a building, opening pathways of perception by dismantling the fortifications of constructed meanings.
