Yara Boustany is a performer and choreographer born in Ghbeleh, Lebanon. Her interdisciplinary work searches for potential sensorial stimuli that can direct humans to unexplored territories of existence - she looks for enchantment and disturbance. She draws on imagination and improvisation to create from the infinite potential of the body and voice freed from convention, and plays with a multitude of visuals, light sources and soundscapes to create unusual realms. She has toured with her shows notably in Lebanon and Beirut, and also in Cairo, Stuttgart, Ankara, Warsaw, London, Machester, Liverpool, Chalon sur Saône, Die and Athens. She is the founder and director of Amalgam Studio in Beirut, Lebanon.
